A Year with Picasso: A reinterpritation of Major and Minor works by Rob Couteau

Local resident,Rob Couteau winner of the 1985 Fourth Annual North American Essay Award, a competition open to writers throughout North America and sponsored by the American Humanist Association has published poetry, fiction, essays, and reviews in such publications as The Alembic; Arete; Bloomsbury Review; Chrysalis; Croton Review; The European; The Hawaii Pacific Review; The Journal of Contemporary Psychotherapy; Raintaxi Review of Books; Spring: A Journal of Archetype and Culture; West Hills Review: A Walt Whtman Journal; White Pelican Review; and Z Miscellaneous.
After living in Paris for twelve years, he returned to the U.S. in December 2000. His work inspired by the time he spent at Musee Picasso, Paris is entitled “ A Year with Picasso: A reinterpretation of major and minor works." This collection of work will be featured at Van Buren Gallery, January 9 through February 6, 2010.

The public is invited to the meet the artist reception January 16, 2010 4-7 PM. Join us after the third Saturday Art Loop!

The closing reception on February 6th will include a 4 PM performance of poetry and prose from Couteau's soon to be released book of poems that features writings which are a part of the "Picasso Project". Couteau has taken a number of paintings and "potrayed" them in poetic form. Lite refreshements will be provided.
